Bila-Bila falls

The Bila-Bila Waterfall, also a child of the ABS-CBN Foundation, is located in the vicinity of Canjalon and is the official protection zone for several species of butterflies.

Previously, it was extremely difficult to be able to reach this waterfall. It went through rivers and massive rock formations had to be overcome. Through the Organization and donation of the ABS-CBN Foundation, it was made the visitors now a little easier. While it was extremely sure that the landscape loses not his flair.

The natural water slide that empties into a natural swimming pool is probably unique. Gina Lopez as also the commentators from Sports Unlimited have the Bila-Bila waterfall opened in September 2012 and obviously they had fun.

The beautiful Bila Bila Falls are located nearby Canjalon, Sibuyan Island. The trek to this water wonder leads to nine levels of waterfalls, including this one at level four, where one can take a slide from the top. Bila-Bila means “butterfly” in the local language. A neighboring province, Marinduque, celebrates its butterflies in its annual Bila Bila Festival in December.

The cache is hidden nearby the level four of the waterfalls. You have to cross several rivers and you have to climb some stones beside the river. You can go further if you are experienced in hiking … You will find a petling, directly beside the footpath and the bathing place under “the slide”. If you are not sure to find the way, there are some guides in Canjalon which will show you the way. I placed some photos at the “river-crossings”. Later you can find some signs like “This way”. Have a nice trekking and bathing experience and be careful!
