History

The Municipality of San Agustín is a fourth class municipality in the province of Romblon, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 18,915 people.

San Agustín was created as a municipal district on June 21, 1969 by virtue of Republic Act No. 5861. It was converted into a municipality on July 1, 1974 by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 824.
